A much needed vacation...

We took a much needed family vacation last week to San Diego.  This was the kid's first trip to San Diego.  It was so neat to see the excitement build in them for their first trip to Sea World and Legoland.

All I have to say is that it is absolutely priceless to see your child's face when they see Shamu for the first time.  That in "awe" expression Corbyn had on his face almost brought me to tears (a little much of a drama queen, I know!) but it did.  They enjoyed it so much.  We lucked out since we had seven day passes so we got to go back for a second day, so we split our days up and did Legoland in between our SeaWorld days.  The boys have never been there either, and since Corbyn is obsessed with Lego's we couldn't pass it up (plus I had a free kids admission coupon!).  Corbyn definitely loved it, lots of rides he could go on.  Kaison on the other hand could have cared less about where we went and what we did...he got to see Shamu that's all he cared about!

Their first trip to the beach was great too.  Corbyn was all about finding shells and discovering what the ocean had to offer for souvenirs.  Kaison was in love with the water crashing at his feet.  We went several days and they loved each day.  We also went to the "pick your own strawberries" farm just down the street from Legoland in Carlsbad.  A little pricey for strawberries, but it was the experience for the boys we couldn't pass up.  Our hotel was great, we stayed at the Courtyard Marriott on Hotel Circle.  Only down side to the hotel was they didn't offer any sort of breakfast, but we just did the cheap thing and took cereal and bagels!

We had a great time overall, we were exhausted everyday...but it was worth it.  We definitely need to take a vacation more often.
