Super easy and fun craft to do with the kids while the weather is so incredibly HOT! Let's face it none of us actually WANT to step outside right now, so this will help keep the kiddo's busy while stuck inside during these disgusting temperatures. (Please excuse some of my photo's I couldn't keep still and some are blurry).
Supplies:
Supplies:
* toilet paper or paper towel tubes (empty of course)
* scrapbook cardstock in your choice of colors or patterns
* scissors
* hole punch
* string or thin ribbon
* your choice of various ribbons for the bottom of the rockets
* one of the following: stapler, glue sticks, or hot glue gun
(note: if using the glue gun, please help your kiddos)
Step 1

Gather all your supplies!
Step 2

You will need to cut a 3 1/2" circle from your choice of cardstock. You can use a punch if you have one about this size, otherwise I just used a small bowl to trace and cut with scissors. After you cut all your circles out (1 for each rocket), use your scissors to cut a slit to the middle point of the circle. This will now allow you to twist it around to create the top of the rocket. Glue to hold the shape, and trim any uneven spots if it doesn't line up exactly. You may also want to cut a very small amount off the tip to allow the string or ribbon to fit through so you can hang the rocket.
Step 3

Cover all your tubes with cardstock and glue ends. Using a paper trimmer to cut the cardstock even will be the easiest way to not have a lot of waste. I just measured my paper tubes first then cut everything to fit. Before the next step you will need to use a hole punch to put two holes directly across from each other at the top of each tube.
Step 4

Using your string or ribbon of choice string it through the two holes as I've shown in the picture. Then tie a knot to keep it straight. Now you will put the two ends of the ribbon or string through the tip of the rocket topper. And tie another knot at the tip of the rocket topper to hold it there. You can put a little glue where the tube and the rocket top meet if you'd like. Now tie another knot at the top of the string and trim excess, you will now have a hanger for your decoration.
Step 5

Cut all your ribbon to what length you wish, you can either cut it longer and loop it like I did or just have it in straight lengths. I used 8 ribbons per tube, different widths and colors. I just used what I had on hand, otherwise I would have chosen more blues I think. You can either staple or glue the ribbons to the tube. Now finish the bottom of the tube off with a thin strip of cardstock to make it look clean. And your done!
