I’m getting ready today to take an antique side table that has been in our family for a while and re-do it! It’s seen way better days, and I have no idea how long it’s been in our family or where it exactly came from…but I’ve had it since I was a teen and I moved it with me each time I moved. This side table is adorable to me and I love it’s simple style, even the handles which are just simple. I don’t think it’s going to need much work, but I’m pretty sure I’m just going to paint it black to match the rest of the furniture in our front room which will soon become my office.
Stay tuned in a future post on it’s outcome!
So for today I thought I would feature some amazing and very clever furniture re-do’s that I love!
Taking an old dresser and removing drawers (possibly broken drawers) to replace with bins! I wish I had of thought! Great idea.
Not only was this antique dresser re-finished in a huge trend color right now, check out the curves! I love it, is has such great character…not just straight plain boring lines! I wish they made more of today’s furniture with a vintage flare…vintage pieces have way more character with their curvy lines!
Aaaah! I love this nightstand turned play kitchen! LOVE! Such a great idea, I wish I had of seen these ideas or thought of this when we purchased a play kitchen for our oldest when he was younger. Although our play kitchen is boyish and super cute from Target…this idea would have been awesome. You can customize this anyway you want. There are so many ideas on different play kitchen furniture re-do’s on Pinterest. The one featured below has a great color combo! Did I mention I LOVE IT!
How about taking a table and turning it upside down and turning it into a toddler bed or super fancy dog bed for those of you with fur babies! With some finials added to the bottoms of the table legs this could be such a super princess style bed! You would just have to find a table to fit a crib mattress.
Yet another fabulous turquoise / teal colored piece. And again another great redo on an old dresser. Taking the drawers out to replace with glass shelves instead of the bin idea. This would be perfect as a tv stand, especially if it’s a nice big huge dresser. This is one of my favorites.
I can’t find this on the sources website, but you can visit MeganNorman.com to see if you can.
Old coffee table re-purposed into a kids table. Um, YES! They painted the top with chalkboard paint (which I wouldn’t probably do since I like clean surfaces) but it’s a great idea. Love the mini benches they made to match. Although if I made benches I would probably make them so they fit under the table when not in use!
This was a genius idea! They took a vintage desk (cute all alone), then made two nightstands out of the already cute desk. Making two awesome nightstands with so much great storage! Who wouldn’t love this much storage next to their bedside? Books, lotions, secret candy stash, magazines, etc….. Kudos to them for this brilliant idea! And on the color!
This idea is great and something I may actually do for my future office for storage that is pretty! Stock cabinets turned fabulous sideboard!
Now come on, what little girl (or Mom) wouldn’t want this adorable vintage vanity in their room! I don’t use a vanity myself, but if I was a little girl this would be the best play dress up spot ever! I love the color combo of the pink and turquoise walls! Oh how I wish I had a girl some days!
Last but not least, this is a great idea for converting your old baby crib into a functional piece. Turn it into a desk! Obviously you would need a crib that has straighter lines. It is a great idea though.
