Recycled Bracelets

Okay so I was bored and saw an empty cardboard ring from a roll of clear tape we just finished using sitting on the counter.  Corbyn had been saving it in his "invention" pile, and I swiped it.  He was less than pleased, I offered him something else in return and all was well in the world again.  Okay so I thought hey this fits me great for a bracelet.  (I have giant hands and chunky wrists, which results in never being able to get all the cute bangle bracelets that are sold in stores!  I believe they referred to this condition in a Seinfeld episode as "man hands"!  Tee Hee. )  So I got some ribbon, since I have an abundance of it and never use it.  Then I got busy with my glue gun.  I made adult sizes and then realized I had smaller cardboard rings that are kid sized, so I made some for a little girl in some super fun summer colors.

Burpcloths

 Just finished these super cute burp cloths for a friend who just had a little girl. I love making cute girl stuff.  We don't have any girls, so I love when I get the chance to make fancy schmancy stuff.

Hope they like them!  Going to make some rosette's and girly hair stuff to go with them!  :)  I will post those when I'm done with them too.

Pinterest!

Well I might be in love...with Pinterest that is!
So incredibly addicting, seriously I can't stop.  It's great to "pin" all the things you love, or to create idea boards, etc...  I've been working on a couple.  One describes a little about who I am and what I love.  The other two are design boards focused on my new favorite trend of the gray, yellow, & turquoise color palette...and the other is based on Corbyn's upcoming room design.  Enjoy.

P.S. - When I finally figure out how to create a link to follow me on Pinterest, you'll be able to follow all my boards.  If you'd like an invitation to join Pinterest let me know and I will send you one.  It's for members only and you need an invite from them directly or someone else.  Happy pinning!

Project for the Kiddo's - 4th of July Rocket Decorations

Super easy and fun craft to do with the kids while the weather is so incredibly HOT!  Let's face it none of us actually WANT to step outside right now, so this will help keep the kiddo's busy while stuck inside during these disgusting temperatures.  (Please excuse some of my photo's I couldn't keep still and some are blurry).

Root Beer Float Frozen Treats

This is a super quick and easy treat perfect for the super HOT temperatures here in Arizona this week.  Also perfect for the kiddo's to make!  They taste so good!

Here's what you need:
* 1 can of root beer or 1 1/2 cups
* 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
* 3 or 5 oz. paper or plastic cups
* popsicle sticks
* optional - cupcake wrappers

Use a whisk to mix the root beer and sweetened condensed milk together in a bowl.  Poor into cups to desired size of popsicle.  Place cups on a small tray in the freezer for about an hour and a half, then insert popscicle sticks in the center.  Then return to the freezer until they are completely set up.  (*optional - you can use cupcake wrappers after pouring liquid into cups to serve a dual purpose.  It will help in keeping the mess to a minimum and help hold the stick upright while in the freezer.  Simple just cut a small slit and place stick through into cup, and freeze.)

This recipe originally came from http://smilemonsters.blogspot.com/2011/05/root-beer-float-on-stick.html, she has tons of creative popsicle ideas, you should totally check her out.  They all sound delicious.

Another cute 4th of July wreath idea

This 4th of July wreath that was featured on All You magazine's website is another super cute idea for an easy and cheap patriotic decoration.  I might try this next, but in other fun summer colors.  If you have a ton of extra card stock laying around this may be an inexpensive way to decorate your door!

Corbyn's new fish tank background

I made this using paint on the computer.  We wanted something simple and colorful to go with the new room decor we are working on.  We just need to have it printed out to the right size and attach it to the back of the tank and we should be good to go.  Once I've got that done we'll post a pic.

Corbyn's bedroom makeover in the making

Over the next couple of months I will be re-doing Corbyn's bedroom.  Since birth he's had a beach inspired room, complete with palm tree and various surf decor.  He's been asking for a while now for me to make over his room in a different color palette and theme.  We decided we are going with a modge podge of stuff, sort of a rock n' roll, meets skateboarding, meets anything cool room!  You will have to wait and see, I promise it will be good.  These are the colors he's chosen.  Now I'm on the hunt for all the awesome stuff at super cheap prices!  Wish us luck.

Soooo.....

So I said I would have a patriotic themed wreath done by yesterday, guess what...I don't!  We had a little trouble with Kaison's breathing yesterday and things were put on hold while we spent the day in the hospital for 9 hours trying to get his oxygen levels back up.  All is good now with him and he's home, so I will return to the wreath tomorrow hopefully and try to finish.

P.S. I had this whole idea in my head for what I wanted it to look like and then I made it...and needless to say I didn't like where it was going so I have to tweak it a bit.  I'm still thinking of how to tweak it!

Getting patriotic

Okay so I decided today that I want to make a super fun and cute patriotic wreath for the front door, I was reading a post about this cute wreath idea on Tatertots and Jello.  I need something not made out of candy though, I think the sun will completely melt it and make a bloody red mess on our front door since we face west.  On a side note I totally wish I had a black front door like all the people with cute wreaths in these blog posts!  If they lived in Arizona would they sacrafice the screen door to have a sofisticated backdrop for their adorable wreaths?  So anyway check out this wreath, and I will update on mine tomorrow with the finished product hopefully!

A much needed vacation...

We took a much needed family vacation last week to San Diego.  This was the kid's first trip to San Diego.  It was so neat to see the excitement build in them for their first trip to Sea World and Legoland.

Lego Birthday Party

When Corbyn turned 7 this year it was a no brainer on the theme of his party.  LEGO's!  He's obsessed!  I usually start planning the theme of the kids party for next year right after the current one ends.
(Yep I'm that person!)

Rock your Mommy Style!

Just a recent order for a sweet friend who keeps coming back and ordering from me time and time again.  God bless her for putting up with my constant procrasnitation about getting orders done!  I have to say I do better work when I wait until the very last minute.

Hopefully soon I can get back into making stuff on a regular basis and begin posting it all for you to see!  This very well could be wishful thinking, but it's my goal...I can do it!
