Felt Circle Headbands

I made a few more headbands this morning.  I really wish I had a little girl to model them, but I don't and I'm pretty sure my hubby wouldn't be thrilled with our 3 year old son modeling them ;D

These headbands are super easy.  If you would like to make them you will need the following:

-  Headband (either fabric/elastic or plastic)
-  Felt (At least 2 colors, you could do solids if you want)
-  Scissors
-  Needle & Thread
-  Glue gun

It's so simple, I promise!  Cut out 5 circles from your felt in varying sizes.  My largest circle was 2 1/2 inches.  You can even create your own templates in paint on your computer and print them on cardstock.  The circles don't have to be perfect, you can even create different shapes.  Once you have them all cut stack them on top of each other with your smallest circle on top.  Then take your contrasting thread and needle and do a simple cross stitch a few times, or if you would like add small buttons there.  Once you have all the pieces finished and put together (I had 3 on each headband, you can do as many as you like) then glue on to your headband.  I usually place them off center on the headband (this part I do have my 3 year old come over and help so I get the right position, shhhh!)  :)  That's it your done!  These are simple, but very cute headbands...hope you enjoy making them.

These adorable silhouette canvas's would be a great keepsake of the boys and go really cute in there funky rooms.

If you haven't seen my house...One word: 80's craftsmanship!  And when I say 80's I mean standard everything and original to the house.  We haven't had much of an opportunity to remodel very much of anything.  This would make a huge difference I think in our bathrooms to make them more modern and fresh!

My pantry is getting here slowly.  Hopefully it will be finished one day soon!  I'm in love with Shelly's pantry from "House of Smith" (one of my fav blogs!)
More pantry organization ideas...

I LOVE surf sprays in my naturally curly hair, and I've heard this brand is amazing.  I can't afford it though, so I'm definitely trying this recipe for my own!

Cinnamon Roll Cake- this was a HUGE hit with my family! it's super moist, literally melts in your mouth! Great for breakfast or dessert!

I will attempt this one day soon until I get it right.  I swear all hairstyles look better on blonde's!  Mine never turn out the same as the ones they picture.
Half-up hairdo how-to: cute hairstyle for short OR long hair!

I think Horchata is the best, and I crave it all the time (probably super bad for you too!), but who cares it's delicious as a treat.

Prepping for Kaison's Circus Party

My little baby boy Kaison will not be so little anymore come Monday.  He'll be turning 3 and celebrating with a circus party.  So now my mad dash is on for the next week of party prepping.  I usually leave things to the last minute, and I didn't disappoint once again and I've left everything to the last minute.  :D
So here's just a couple things from the party you'll see.

Then while I was shopping today at Michaels for ribbon and only ribbon, I stumbled across these lovelies!  Well some of them are lovely now, the rest will be lovely come October!  They will all adorn my fireplace mantle for Halloween.  I'm excited.  Those paper mache' skulls will be GLITTERED!

Fabric Envy

I'll admit it....I love fabric!  Every time I see a fabric print I adore I get giddy thinking how awesome it would look made into a burpcloth, a pillow, or a purse even.  There are so many choices of incredible fabrics right now, and an endless amount of wonderful designers making them for us.  Here are some of my favorites right now, if I listed all of my fav's you'd be reading all night.  :D

Aren't these some fantastic collections?  By the way if you can't see the Michael Miller Knitty Gritty fabrics well enough it's totally worth clicking on the photo.  I love skulls and these are some super cute fabrics featuring skulls with scissors and knitting needles/pins instead of crossbones.  Awesome.

So here are a couple of the items I've been working on this week for an order.  And also a few other hair accessories I worked on.  I haven't even began to tackle the pile of 200+ burpcloths sitting on my kitchen table.  Kaison's birthday party planning will probably come first since that is next week!

Fun room ideas for the kiddos

In my hunt for inspiration for Corbyn's room makeover and my HUGE addiction to Pinterest I have come across so many wonderfully done baby nurseries and kid's rooms.  I figured I would share some of the lovely rooms I've found with you.  Maybe you'll find an idea or two while looking through these rooms.

Pallet's...What are they good for? Let me tell you!

So how many times do you see empty wood pallets just laying around?  I see them all the time behind my husbands restaurant, but I'm hesitant to take them since they belong to the stores in the plaza and usually the company who delivered them picks them up.  Although lots of times lately I've seen them around houses in the neighborhood that people are remodeling, so I may have to head over and ask what their intentions are for the unused pallet.  ;D

One of the inspirations I have for Corbyn's new room make-over is to incorporate a pallet or two in some fashion.  Most likely as a headboard.  I haven't entirely decided for sure how I want it to look, but I'm almost positive I love the look of it already.  It's a little edgy and so fun.  Did I mention FREE is always good too!  Corbyn's will most likely be painted and not left raw, although it would go well with the furniture in his room and break up a lot of the gray & black color scheme going on.  You'll just have to wait and see.  But for now here are some amazing ideas of what you can do with a pallet if your lucky enough to come across a few for free.  (Please don't go stealing them from stores, if you see them...maybe just double check with the store manager if you can have one or two first!)  If you can't find any easily, I would suggest checking on craigslist.

My Goodwill Finds Yesterday

I decided to hit up Goodwill yesterday after picking Corbyn up from school.  Glad I did too.  I scored a couple awesome deals.  Like the seriously brand new VANS shoes for Corbyn for $2.99!  And the uber cute cupcake stand for $2.99.  Then I was also lucky enough to find an Old Navy pair of denim cropped pants for me for $5.99.  P.S.  it's rare to find cute plus size clothes in general sometimes, so to find them at Goodwill is like a major score.  :)  I love Goodwill!
