Pumpkin Decorating Ideas

Were about a month out from Halloween which means most of you crafty people are beginning to create all your Halloween decor if you do decorate for the holiday.  I myself don't go all crazy spooky or and in years past we don't do very much of anything Halloween themed except for carved pumpkins or painted ones for the kiddos.  This year I'm creating a Halloween inspired mantle above the fireplace, and pumpkins we'll decorate for our front walkway and that's about it.

I thought it would be great to give you some ideas and techniques for some decorated pumpkins, there are some great ideas.  I even threw in a Hello Kitty themed one I saw just for those of you that have girls in your family, I thought it was too cute!

Top 10 Family Picture Poses & Ideas

It seems that Fall is the ideal time for yearly family picture sessions.  At least it is for us, I like them to have them done just in enough time to print up our Christmas cards each year.  We have a wonderful friend who is a photographer - Rhi from Raw Canvas Photography has been doing our family pictures for the last several years.  She is wonderful with the kid's, and even tries super hard to get Gonzalo to crack a smile (which isn't an easy task!)  ; D

So this weeks Top 10 is all about some of my favorite family picture poses I've seen around lately.  I'm linking this post up with Miss Mommy and her Top 10 link party.  Make sure to head over and check out all the lists and vote for your favorite Top 10!  Here we go:

My kids favorite food...

Yes your seeing it correctly!  They are addicted to Ramen Noodles!  Every weekend it's guaranteed they will ask for it for breakfast (they'd eat it all day if we let them), they always ask Daddy to make it for them.  He makes it the way they like it, or doctors it up in different ways.

Now when I was a kid we ate this stuff all the time and I liked it, then I moved out on my own and the first thing my Mom gave me was a costco sized box of Ramen noodles.  I don't think I even ate but 5 or 6 packages of them.  I couldn't stand the thought of eating them.  For a long time I didn't.  Then I had kids.  They love this stuff, and rightfully I don't blame them...who doesn't love a noodle.  And to top it off it has a delicious (highly sodium filled might I add) broth with it.  Don't forget the awesome $0.10 price tag.  But that's not the only way to eat it.  Ramen noodles are very versatile, you can make so many Asian inspired dishes with it.  And who doesn't love Asian food?  It's probably not even just limited to Asian food either.  Here are some recipes I found using Ramen noodle packages.  Do you have a fun creative way you use Ramen noodles in recipe?

Fall is here...

It's officially the first day of Fall today.  Can I just say that it does not feel like it here is sunny Arizona.  Give it another month or so and maybe...just maybe it will.  :)

Most of the country is experiencing the beginning of all Fall has to offer.  The lovely leaves that change from green to these incredible oranges, reds and yellow tones.  The cool crisp air, the smell of the seasonal speciality drinks at Starbucks, and the awesome scarves that will be appearing on necks across the country over the next few weeks.  So to get Fall started the right way I've found some super cute printables for you to make your fall decorating just a bit more lovely.

First up is this great idea for a Fall Bucket List.  This is great for the kids.  This would look great in a cute frame so you could just use a dry erase marker to check things off as you go, then you could use it year to year.

This next site has lot's of great printables.

And last but not least I made you this Fall Subway Art Printable!  Hope you like it.  Obviously your copy won't have the watermark.  Click on the link below to print.

Halloween Wreath Tutorial - Burlap & Black Birds

Since I made this Halloween wreath last week for my Sis-in-law Heather's new house, I figured I needed a new one too.  I've had the same one for a while (which I love, it's black and has a bunch of awesome glittery colors), but I needed something fresh this year.  So when I saw this wreath:
I knew I had to re-create it for my front door.  Oddly I accidentally found and picked out the same identical fabric as the inspiration wreath from "The 36th Avenue".  I knew I loved the fabric a little too much for a reason when I saw it at Joanns.  : )

Top 10 Halloween Costume Ideas

This week's Top 10 list is all about DIY Halloween Costume Ideas.  Most of these featured are DYI, a few are examples from Etsy stores...but could very easily been done at home!  I'm all about making at least some part of my kids costumes.  For me it's special, I feel like there costume is unique in some way because I took the time to put some love into it.  Now don't get me wrong...I think store bought is fine too!  I just prefer to have some part of the costume if not the whole thing handcrafted (and usually it's just a few things, not the whole thing).
