What is it about your kid starting a new year of school that gets a Momma crying like a ... Well like a Mom! I'm mean geesh, it's not like he's starting Kindergarten today...he's a seasoned pro and starting third grade today. I've been aching for this day all summer long. Don't get me wrong I completely adore this boy and all he has to offer. Yet there are times we butt heads. So for us it's a bittersweet day. A day I know we both look forward to. He thoroughly enjoys school...he's smart like that...and well I think secretly he likes all the girls gushing over him. Granted that is an off limit topic at this age, but it still cracks me up that so many girls get googly eyes around him every year. Ha Ha. I know he will do great this year and he will make great connections. Corbyn's such a smart, and caring kid - I know that he impacts the people around him each and every day. Our prayer is always that he is a light to those around him, lifting them up when they need it and that he will be the example Christ wants us to be.
This kid has great things in his future!
Caught him off guard! But he's so handsome.
We also had some last days of summer break fun this past week. I made the boys some spongeballs and let them go at it with each other. They had a great time. These spongeballs are super easy and really cheap to make. Buy some sponges from the dollar store. I got mine from Dollar Tree, they were 6 sponges to a package I think. I bought two packs. I cut the sponges in to long strips (4 strips per sponge). I stacked the sponges 3 x 3 and tied with some string. That's it. Cheap entertainment.

What a great idea to have a sign for his pictures. So cute.
My little boy is also headed for 3rd Grade. He's my baby and I really think there's been a mistake. 3rd grade?? How does time go by so quickly? I love the sign-great way to always remember.
