4th of July Mantel

4th-of-July-Mantel

This past week I’ve been posting a lot of patriotic inspiration from around Pinterest to help inspire your holiday decor.  Today I’m finally sharing my 4th of July Mantel.  This mantel was put together with items I found around my home, which made putting it together not only cost-effective but easy.

The only thing that is “new” is the Patriotic Popsicle Stick Garland I made a couple of weeks ago.  By using what I already had around my home I saved a ton of money.  I bet if you looked around and through your craft stash you might have enough to pull together a cute display too.

Sometimes everything works out and coordinates, and other times it may just take a quick coat of paint to transform something so it works with your design.  Luckily everything I had went together.

The DIY Chalkboard I just added a quick message to.  I added vintage books, one of my favorite things to have on hand for decorating.  I scour thrift shops for them.  The painted number sign is actually from my sweet friends at Lolly Jane.  There isn’t a tutorial for it since it was from one of our craft events.  It was perfect for this mantel.  I added my favorite wood anchor, and some miscellaneous decor that matched the theme.

Last year I loved my Patriotic Mantel with an all neutral color palette.  This year I wanted to make it a little more traditional by adding the reds, and blues.  So glad I did.  I’m super happy with how quickly this mantel came together and that it cost me absolutely nothing to put together.  I hope you love it too.

Hi Rebecca! Love this mantle décor – had not realized the banner was made of popsicle sticks until I took closer look! Wow — so fun! Love the vintage books and baseball too. (I can never pass up pretty vintage books!) Well done! Happy Independence Day, Catherine (newest follower of your blogging adventures!) 🙂

Oh thank you Catherine! Isn’t that banner fun?! It’s my new favorite. I might be using the popsicle sticks more often now. Ha ha. 🙂

I was just sitting looking at my mantel last night thinking I should start decorating it for the different holidays, thanks for the inspiration!
