Dollar Store Craft {Neon Wood Painted Earrings}

Neon Wood Painted Earrings
The other day while strolling through my local 99 Cent Only store {I love dollar stores} I came across these plain wood earrings.  It’s like they were calling my name to take them home and make them fabulous.  They were perfect for these Neon Wood Painted Earrings.

I decided I would use Neon for this project, I’m obsessed with Neon at the moment. Maybe it’s because I feel super tan when I wear it, maybe it’s the intense colors…who knows, but I love it.

I used some masking tape to tape off the earrings in the patterns I wanted.  You can really do anything, stripes, polka dots, solids…you decide. You could use little stickers too.

All you do is paint them.  I had to do several coats of my neon colors since they were a thinner acrylic paint, I just kept applying coats until I reached the intensity I wanted.

I removed the tape when it was dry and I had these great earrings.

These earrings are the perfect example of finding something simple at the dollar store and making it fabulous.  These have a great natural feel to them to with the mixture of the wood and paint.  Perfect for summer!

    I will have to look for something like these, but I think I’d get some neon or other brightly colored nail polish while at the store. It may take a little longer to dry but I like shiny. Maybe even glitter. Awesome idea for dressing up something so plain, thank you!
